I’ve thinking a lot (and for the exhibition playing a lot) with the middle ground between words and symbols, between sounds and visions, between something and nothing. It’s a weird area to hang out in, a thin line between keeping something minimal and being lazy. How little can you do and still have done something? References to Duchamp’s Readymades are inevitable when throwing a splash of paint on a 3D printed object, but at the same time the Dadaists weren’t adverse to music so it may be more fitting than I’m intending. Intention is the sweet spot here. As it often is with high concept work, the question is how it will translate. And if that even matters.
